The wounded.
--We hear of many casualties in the First Virginia regiment; also, many in the 12th, containing the Grays of this city and six
Petersburg companies.
We have made such arrangements as we think will insure the names to-morrow of all who have been brought to the hospitals in this city wounded.
We prefer this course to a hearsay and partial list.
The Medical Department, on Saturday and Sunday, sent out brandy, whiskey, morphine, splines, bandages, &c,
ad libatum. Our loss (though the sprit of many a loved one has flown upward) has not been a very severe one, considering the importance of the struggle and the numbers engaged.
There can be but one opinion as to the conduct of many people in this city regarding their efforts, in conjunction with the army authorities, to ameliorate the condition of the wounded — they acted nobly.
All of the many hundreds of wounded brought here yesterday bore their sufferings with manly resignation and fortitude.
