Sale of Market stalls.

--The Clerk of the Second Market, Mr. J. P. Tyler, offered at public auction yesterday morning the vegetable and meat stalls under his jurisdiction. The bidding dragged heavily, and many of the stalls brought figures from two hundred to three hundred per cent. less than they did last year. We heard of one stand in the vegetable department which rented formerly for $400, but only brought the sum of $30 yesterday. Fifty dollars was the highest figure paid for any of them.
