The soldiers' Dinner.

--The proposition of providing a sumptuous repast, on Christmas day, for the gallant soldiers attached to the Army of Northern Virginia, seems to meet with universal approval. Besides liberal contributions from private citizens, the four branches of the Confederate Congress and the General Assembly of Virginia, in session in this city, voted one day's compensation in informal session, yesterday, for that purpose. Already upwards of fifty thousand dollars have been raised for that object.
