Another Attempted invasion of a dwelling.

--A short time previous to the robbery at the Arlington House on Sunday night (mentioned in our issue of yesterday), an attempt was made to effect a forcible entrance into the chamber of M. F. Conway, Esq., at the residence of H. M. Smith, on Main, between Sixth and Seventh streets. Mr. Conway was awakened by the noise, and the thief frightened off. A shot was fired at him as he was retreating, which failed to take effect. Burglaries are becoming so common that it will be necessary for every citizen to make an arsenal of his dwelling for self- protection.
