FLORANGE-DASPICH-EBANGE
Moselle, France.
A view SW of Thionville. Ancient workshops
were discovered here: 1) potteries (in the middle of
Daspich) centered W of the Daspich-Terville Roman
road (roughly corresponding to modern N 412); native
and Belgian ware was produced from the end of the
Gallic period to the 3d c. 2) E of the road mentioned
above, forges and metallurgical works dating from the
middle of the 1st c. to the 3d c. The settlement was apparently twice destroyed by fire in the 1st c. A statuette
of Epona was discovered in 1964.
The Thionville museum has an archaeological collection.
