GADDA

GADDA (Γάδδα), a town of the tribe of Judah, mentioned only in Joshua (15.27). A village of this name is noticed by Eusebius as existing in his day, on the site of the ancient town, in the extremity of the country, called Daroma. St. Jerome adds, “contra orientem, imminens mart mortuo.” (Onomast. s. v.)
