MONESI

Eth. MONESI one of the many peoples of Aquitania [p. 2.369]enumerated by Pliny, who places them below the Saltus Pyrenaeus (4.19). The name seems to be preserved in that of Moneins, which is between Pons and Navarreins, where it is said that there are traces of Roman camps. Moneins is in the department of Basses Pyrénées.
