OAENEUM

OAENEUM a town of the Penestae, situated on a road leading into the country of the Labeates, which overlooked a narrow pass, formed by a mountain and the river ARTATUS. It was taken by Perseus in the campaign of B.C. 169. (Liv. 43.19.)
