The Virginia Dare.

The ship Virginia Dare, the first vessel built for the Richmond and Liverpool line, left Baltimore on Monday morning for Richmond, and may be expected at Rocketts to-day, (Wednesday.) The reports as to any injury to her on last Saturday, in the harbor of Baltimore, we are informed are entirely erroneous. The steamer George Peabody expected to take the ship in tow on Saturday last: but a gale of wind blowing at the time, it was found unsafe to proceed, and her departure was postponed until Monday morning, when she left the harbor in low of a tug. She is expected here today in perfect order to receive her cargo, which is already engaged. A Big Gun will announce her arrival. So let those who take any interest in the good ship, and the important enterprise of which she is the beginning, listen for the signal. Her appearance here will be one of the most interesting events in the history of the city. If our own citizens can only regard this event in the proper light, and can be induced, by a just view of our policy as well as a liberal public spirit and local pride, to sustain the enterprise as they can and ought, the Virginia Dare will indeed be the beginning of a noble commerce, that will add largely to the prosperity of Richmond and the State.
