Andrew Johnson made a strong anti slavery speech, in which he said if we had no slaves there would be few traitors.
A dispatch from Washington, 12th, states that the railroad bridges destroyed by the freshet had been replaced.
New Orleans advices say that a large side wheel steamer had evaded the blockaders at Galveston, getting in four thousand stand of arms.
It is reported that Bishop McClosky has been appointed Archbishop of New York.
A telegram from Cairo, the 19th, reports that the rebel Forrest, with a large force was advancing on Paducah last night, in four directions.
Reinforcements have been sent there from Mayfield.
