Admitted to bail.

--William R. Jones, who was arrested in Chesterfield county in the month of November last upon the charge of stealing a watch and chain, appeared before Judge Meredith yesterday on a writ of habeas corpus, and made an application to be admitted to bail. The petition for the writ alleges that no criminal offence is charged upon him, and that he is therefore entitled to bail. The accused was taken before the County Court of Chesterfield at it last session, and although his counsel urged a speedy hearing, the case was continued until the ensuing term. Judge Meredith having duly considered the facts in the case, admitted him to bail in the sum of one thousand dollars to appear before the Examining Court of Chesterfield at its next term.
