Within a short time it was definitely settled that we should move up the country to Leesburgh — a stone's throw from the Potomac and Maryland.
What our ultimate destination might be, none knew or cared.
Any thing to get away from Manassas and Centreville, any place where we could have a change of scene, and find butter, eggs, and poultry procurable for money, all such articles having been consumed where we then were, or so few remaining that fabulous prices were asked for them.
