The Legislature.
In the Senate yesterday the House bill to incorporate the Virginia Female Institute of Richmond was passed.
A discussion sprung up upon the subject of the impressment of provisions in transits to market by the Confederate Government.
The subject was brought up by a motion of Mr. Marshall, of Fauquier, to take up and consider the House joint resolution on the subject.
Mr. Dickinson said he was assured the Government had not pursued the course of impressing on the way to market, and opposed taking up the resolution.
Messrs. Douglass and Collier favored taking it up. It was taken up, discussed and laid on the table.
The Committee on Confederate Relations reported adversely to any legislation in relation to the Confederate claim to tax tobacco in the public warehouses.
After the usual resolutions of thanks to its officers, the Senate adjourned to meet on the first Monday in December next.
