A.shabby, tattered garment, “ἀμφὶ δὲ λαῖφος ἕσσω” Od.13.399; “τοιάδε λαίφε᾽ ἔχοντα” 20.206: generally, λ. λυγκός a lynx's skin, h.Hom.19.23; of bedding, h.Merc.152.
