Ec.755; “ἐ. κεῖται” Pl.Lg.820e; ἐπ᾽ ἐνεχύρῳ δοῦναι give on security, D.49.2; “ἐπ᾽ ἐνεχύροις δανείζειν” Ph.1.634; ἐκ τῶν ἐ. τῶν ὠφληκότων τὴν δίκην from the forfeited pledges, IG2.814a A26 (iv B.C.): metaph. in pl., hostages, of wives and children, Aen.
