ἐπεῖπον , aor. 2, inf. ἐπειπεῖν, pf.
A.“ἐπείρηκα” Plu.2.1054f: pres. ἐπιλέγω (q. v.):—say besides or afterwards, Hdt.1.123, Th.1.67, Aeschin. 2.157, etc.
2. ψόγον ἐ. τινί say it of one, A.Supp.972 (anap.), cf. Luc.Hist.Conscr.26; “σκωπτικόν τι εἴς τινα” Id.Dem.Enc.33.
3. quote as apposite, “τὰ ἐξ Ἰλιάδος ἐκεῖνα” Ael.VH4.18; “ἐ. τὸ κοινὸν ἀρχὴ δέ τοι ἥμισυ παντός” Luc.Somn.3; cf. ἐπιλέγω.
4. utter, pronounce a spell, “ἐ. ἐπῳδήν” Id.Philops.35.
5. make a speech at, “τάφῳ” Polem.Cyn.2.
