A.one that holds together, “ὁ τῶν ἐνύλων εἰδῶν ς. θεός” Jul.Or.5.165d, cf. Procl. in R.2.307K., al.: pl., maintainers, a certain order of gods in Neo-Platonism, Id.in Prm.p.494S., Dam. Pr.96.
2. generally, one who holds the loyalty of others, “ἄνθρωπος ς. καὶ ἑνωτικός” Horap.2.116.
