τάσις [α^], εως, ἡ, （τείνω)
A.stretching, tension, τῆς κοιλίης f.l. in one cod. for στάσις, Hp.Acut.37; “τοῦ οἰσοφάγου” Arist.PA691a1, cf. 664a32; τάσιν ἔχειν to be capable of tension, Id.HA515b16,al.; ὀφρύων τ. contraction of the eyebrows, AP12.42 (Diosc.); of tension accompanying inflammation, Sor.2.19, Gal.10.66.
2. extension, “τ. ἐπὶ μῆκος καὶ ἐπὶ πλάτος” Arist.HA495b23.
3. τάσεις τῆς φωνῆς pitch of the voice, Stoic.2.96; in music, Plu.2.1020e, cf. 1133c; of the accents, “τάσεις φωνῆς αἱ καλούμεναι προσῳδίαι” D.H.Comp.19; ὀξεῖα τ. Ath.2.53a.
4. intensity, force, τάσιν λαβεῖν, of darts, Plu.Sull.18.
5. fixing of the eyes upon an object, Lib.Or.61.9.
