Articles of War.

In the United States, Congress only can make articles of war. These have been based on the English articles and mutiny act. They were first adopted by the Continental Congress. July 30, 1775, and extended March 20, 1776; enacted again, with little alteration, April 10, 1806. Some additions were made from 1861-65, and in 1874 they were codified as section 1,342 of the Revised statutes of the United States. An act of Congress provides that the Articles of War shall be read before the officers and men of the army and navy at frequent and regular periods.
