O'Reilly, John Boyle 1844-1890

Author; born in Dowth Castle, Ireland, June 28, 1844; became a Fenian, and was sentenced to death for high treason, but sentence was commuted to transportation. He escaped from Australia in 1869, was picked up on the high seas by an American ship and taken to America. He was a contributor to the Boston Pilot, and later its editor and proprietor. He died in Boston, Mass., Aug. 10, 1890.
