Bacon, Leonard, 1802-1881
Clergyman; born in Detroit, Mich., Feb. 19, 1802; was graduated at Yale in 1820, and at Andover Theological Seminary in 1824, and connected with Yale Divinity School for many years, and lecturer on American Church History. He was one of the editors of the Independent for several years, and author of Select practical writings of Richard Baxter; Thirteen discourses on the two hundredth anniversary of the first Church in New Haven; Slavery discussed; Genesis of the New England churches, etc. He died in New Haven, Conn., Dec. 24, 1881.
