--The Mayor, yesterday, ordered punishment to be bestowed on Winston, slave of John Sinton, for assaulting Adelaine, slave of E. Yerby, while in charge of several of the latter's children, some of whom came near being struck by the missiles thrown by the above colored rascal. The master of the nurse luckily observed the proceeding, and succeeded, after a chase, in overhauling the scamp and handing him over to Captain Wilkinson. His punishment was deserved, and if the stripes which he got were ‘"well laid on,"’ surely nobody will complain.
