Jos James, an engineer on the Wilmington and Manchester Railroad, was stabbed and killed on the 27th ult., in Wilmington, N. C., by James Thompson. The Northern papers give the cold shoulder to the ‘"man Forter,"’ (Charles H.,) and say he will not be allowed a seat in the Federal Congress as a member from North Carolina. Cornell Conway Felton, President of Harvard College, Mass., died on the 2th ult., near Chester, Pa. He was an author of considerable reputation.
