Alas for the Conquered!

--Judge Richard Carmichael, of Easton, Maryland, was taken from the Bench on the 28th ult., by Federal troops, under an order from Gen. Dix, of Baltimore. The arrest was attended with much violence. Judge C. being struck over the head and beaten by the officers making it. Doubt of his ‘"loyalty"’ brought on the outrage.
