Attack on Vicksburg.
Augusta. St. June 1st.
--The Jackson Mississippian, &5 the his a dispatch from Vicksburg, of some days, which says that two of the enemy's boats came to the point and fired one hundred, and sixteen shots from 6 o'clock till dark.
They commenced firing at the batteries at 9 o'clock P. M., and continued for an hour.
At 10 o'clock the firing commenced on both side.
The batteries are uninjured.
The house damaged in the city are the Methodist Church, the Marlus Hospital, and the residence of John K. Kingue and Doff Green.--All quiet Captain James A. Caskie's artillery company hard the Federal transports, disabled of all.
