Small notes of the city of Richmond

Very few of these notes are in circulation, the larger part of them being evidently heard, under the idea that they are more valuable than Confederate and State currency. This is all a mistake. The State law authorizing their lime provides that they "may be redressed in say currency which is received for duce to the Commonwealth." The city ordinance, also, as to the last issue, provides that they shall be redeemed in Confederate currency. So the holders of theme notes may as well part with them and 1st the community have the of the "small charge."
