Sacrilege.

--Some thieving Yankee has stolen from the altar of the Cathedral at St. Louis, N. C., a silver cross, the gift of Don Ramon Almonaster, which had been in the Cathedral for over half a century. The intrinsic value of the cross was between $3,000 and $4,000, while as a relic of olden days in New Orleans, and on the score of religious association, it was looked upon as almost priceless.
