State Guard.

--In our notice last Saturday of a robbery at the State Capitol, we inadvertently remarked that it was "a little singular that this robbery should have taken place in the presence and without the knowledge of the State Guard."Since then we have been assured that the State Guard have nothing to do with the interior of the building, their duties being outside. Of course they cannot know what takes place within, and are no more to blame for this robbery than the doorkeeper of a theatre is for the picking of a pocket of one of the audience. We make this correction in justice to the guard.
