--The City Council, at its last meeting, passed the ordinance relative to the
Richmond City Railway, with some, amendments.
It stipulates among its provisions that the first section of the road, leading from
Rocketts up to Ninth street, shall be completed within one year from the date of its passage.
The company suffered much, pecuniarily, from the disasters of war, and they propose to renew their enterprise by means of a loan, effected in the usual manner.
That the road will eventually be constructed from
Rocketts up Main to Ninth street, thence out to the corporation line, up Ninth to Broad, and out Broad to Brook avenue, with various diverging routes to the railroad depots, we entertain no sort of doubt.
