Board of War and ordnance,

A committee appointed by Congress, June 12, 1776, consisting of John Adams, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Harrison, James Wilson, and Edward Rutledge, with Richard Peters as secretary. This board continued. with changes, until October, 1781, when Benjamin Lincoln was appointed Secretary of War.
