Lamb, Roger 1756-1830

Military officer; born in Dublin, Ireland, Jan. 17, 1756; joined the British army and fought against the colonies in the American Revolution; was twice taken prisoner, but escaped each time, bearing important news regarding the American troops to his superiors; was made adjutant to the Merchant Volunteers in New York about 1782. His publications, which are among the most valuable sources for the history of the Revolutionary period, include A journal of occurrences during the late American War, and Memoir of my own life. He died in May, 1830.
