Parker, Edward Griffin 1825-1868

Lawyer; born in Boston, Mass., Nov. 16, 1825; graduated at Yale College in 1847; admitted to the bar in 1849, and practised in Boston till 1861, when he entered the National army as an aide on the staff of Gen. Benjamin F. Butler. In 1862 he was appointed adjutant-general and chief of staff to Gen. John H. Martindale. After the war he removed to New York City. His publications include The Golden age of American oratory and reminiscences of Rufus Choate. He died in New York City, March 30, 1868.
