That good, old Virginia newspaper, the Abingdon Virginian, after an enforced sleep of exactly twelve months, roused itself, like a strong man refreshed by slumber, on the 8th day of the present month. General Stoneman, it seems, took the duties of the editors off their hands, and, turning editor himself, wrote a valedictory for them on the 15th day of December, 1864. Whether they were pleased with the substitution we are left to conjecture. We should rather suppose the contrary, since they have again taken the field of journalism on their own hook. We wish our old acquaintance, the Virginian, all the success its editors can desire; and are confident, from past experience, that they will deserve all they may meet, let it be as ample as it may.
