Counterfeit money.

A flutter was created in Charleston, S. C., on Saturday among financial circles by the discovery that a number of counterfeit Confederate notes, of the denominations of $20, $50, and $100, were in circulation. During the day the banks, as a measure of precaution, suspended the reception of all Confederate hills of the denominations named, until some sufficient test could be established to distinguish the genuine issues from the counterfeit. A few days, at furthest, will suffice to ascertain such a test, when the inconvenience resulting from the doubt in respect to twenties, fifties, and hundreds, will no longer exist. No counterfeit tens or fives have been found in circulation, and notes of these and smaller denominations are received as usual.--The plate that is counterfeited is one of Hoyer & Ludwighs, containing the 20's, 50's, and 100's.
