New Fire-arm.

--There can now be seen at the foundry of A. Hubbard, on the Grove road, in Sidney, a new and novel breech-loading rifle, which combines in a rare degree simplicity with effectiveness of range — the invention of Mr. S. H. DeBow. It costs no more to construct it than does the common rifle or musket, while it possesses all the destructive qualities of the "Minnie" or "Volcanic" rifle. No doubt this Virginia invention will be extensively introduced to the public. Its ammunition is very simple and easily put up for use. Speaking of the latter, reminds us that our townsman, Mr. C. A. McEvoy, has lately invented a cartridge combining some important advantages over those heretofore in use.
