Major Thompson's sword.

--The Cincinnati papers boast largely of the capture of a sword from Major Thompson, of the First Georgia Regiment, in the Cheat River engagement. The truth of the matter is, that the captured sword was one which had been presented to Major T. some years previously, and was with the baggage which they stole. The sword that he used in the engagement is still in his possession. The exploit was, therefore, nothing for the Hessian to boast of. Stealing is one of their avocations, and this act adds another item to their disgraceful catalogue. They also stole Major Thompson's watch, and a sum of money.
