ANAXAGOREIA
ANAXAGOREIA (
ἀναχαγόρεια), a day
of recreation for the youths at Lampsacus, which took place once every year,
in compliance with a wish expressed by Anaxagoras, who, after being expelled
from Athens, spent the remainder of his life there. This continued to be
observed even in the time of Diogenes Laërtius
(
Anaxag. 100.10).
