PASANDA
or Pasada, Turkey.
Town in Caria,
known as a neighbor of Kaunos from the Athenian tribute lists (tribute half a talent) and from the
Stadiasmus;
the latter places it 30 stades from Kaunos. It seems also
to be mentioned by Diodoros (14.79: Sasanda) and by
Stephanos Byzantios s.v. Passa. In the Hellenistic period,
at least for a while, it had the status of a deme or Kaunos. At no time did it strike coins. A small site recently discovered a little S of the Solungur Gölü, at about the required distance from Kaunos, is likely to be that of Pasanda.
