SAMIARIUM

a building near the Colosseum in Region II (Not.) where gladiators' weapons were sharpened and polished (cf. Lydus de mag. i. 46¹; Jord. ii. 18; HJ 300).

1 σαμιάριοι οἱ τῶν ὅπλων στιλπνωταί. It was no doubt in connexion with the Colosseum, like the LUDUS MAGNUS and the SPOLIARIUM (qq.v.).
