ὑπείσ-ειμι , (εἶμι
A.ibo) enter upon, succeed to, “εἰς τὴν αὐτῶν τάξιν” Cod.Just.1.3.41.1, cf. PLond.1.77.18 (vi A. D.).
2. succeed to an office, τὴν πρωτοκωμητίαν ib.5.1677.48 (vi A. D.).
3. Ἀγαθῖνος εἰς τὴν τοιαύτην ὑπεισῄει διδασκαλίαν succeeded to, i. e. came to give his authority to, this teaching, Gal.7.488.
II. enter imperceptibly, ὑ. τί τινα comes into one's mind, Ach.Tat.8.17.
