προστρέχω , fut.
A.“-δρα^μοῦμαι” D.21.224:—run to or towards, come to one, “πρὸς τοὺς νεκρούς” Pl.R.440a; τινι Ar.Ach.1084, Av.759, X.An. 4.3.10, etc.: abs., run up, Id.HG3.1.18, Cyr.7.1.15, D.l.c., etc.
2. in hostile sense, make a sally, “πρός τι” X.Cyr.5.4.47.
3. of things, happen to one, τινι D.S.13.37 codd.; προστρέχει πολλαχοῦ τὸ "γίγνεται" occurs frequently, Dam.Pr.401.
II. metaph., join or side with, [τῇ συγκλήτῳ] Plb.24.10.4, etc.; “πρὸς τὴν τῶν πολλῶν γνώμην” Id.28.7.8; “πρὸς τὴν ἀλήθειαν” Id.18.15.2.
2. approach, -τρέχων τῇ ἐννόμῳ ἡλικίᾳ, i.e. not quite of age, POxy.247.12 (i A.D.).
3. resemble, c. dat., Corn.ND32.
