ACRATISMA
ACRATISMA (
ἀκράτισμα), the early
breakfast (
μρωϊνὸν ἄριστον), which the
Greeks took immediately after rising, corresponding to the first breakfast
of the French or Germans. It consisted of bread dipped in unmixed wine
(
ἄκρατος οἶνος), whence the name
ἀκράτιδμα. [See
