LUDI VICTO´RIAE SUJLLA´NAE
LUDI VICTO´RIAE SUJLLA´NAE were
established by Sulla in 82 B.C. The original day was the Kalends of
November, the date of the victory at the Colline Gate; but afterwards the
games lasted from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1 inclusive. They were called Ludi
Victoriae Sullanae by Velleius (2.27) and the Fasti Sabini (
C. I.
L. i. p. 302), to distinguish them from the Ludi Victoriae Caesaris.
They do not appear in the Calendar of Philocalus (354 A.D.).
