A point on the S. coast of Crete, now Punta di Lionda. (Ptol. 3.17.4; Höck, Kreta, vol. i. pp. 394, 413.) [E.B.J]

A promontory of Euboea, S. of Eretria, on the καλὴ ἀκτή. (Ptol. 3.15.24.)

A place on the E. coast of Sicily, near Syracuse, where both the Athenians and Romans landed when they were going to attack that city. (Thuc. 6.97; Liv. 24.39.) [SYRACUSAE]
