LUGIO´NUM

LUGIO´NUM (Λουγίωνον), a town in the south of Pannonia Inferior, was the capital of a district. (Ptol. 2.16.5.) In the Peuting. Table it is called Lugio, and it is, perhaps, to be looked for on the site of the modern Batta, at the entrance of the Sarviz into the Danube.
