1 قَتَلَ الشَّىْءَ ذ , inf. n. قَتْلٌ, (assumed tropical:) He knew the thing; he was, or became, acquainted with it: (Msb:) [or rather, i. q.] قَتَلَهُ عِلْمًا, (Bd in iv. 156, and TA,) and خُبْرًا, (K,) and بِعِلْمِهِ, (Bd, ubi supra,) he knew it (Bd, K, TA) completely, (TA,) or thoroughly, very well, or superlatively well; as also نَحَرَهُ عِلْمًا.
