OLD SLEAFORD Lincolnshire, England.

A late Iron Age settlement here played an important part in the political geography of E Britain shortly before the Roman conquest: a Belgic coin mint is attested. The succeeding Roman settlement was a humble village at the crossing of the river Slen. The only building excavated is an aisled hall containing a large corn-drying oven.
