ὑπόστημα , ατος, τό, (ὑφίστημι)
A.that which sinks to the bottom, sediment, esp. in urine, Hp.Judic.3; of excrement and urine, τὰ ὑ. τῆς κοιλίας καὶ τῆς κύστεως (cf. “ὑπόστασις” B. 1.1) Arist.HA487a6, cf. PA653b11; ὑ. τὸ λευκόν, of birds, ib.679a18.
