Erētum

A town of the Sabines, north of Nomentum and northeast of Fidenae, and at no great distance from the Tiber. Its name frequently occurs in the Roman historians. The antiquity of the place is attested by Vergil (vii. 711). It was subsequently the scene of many a contest between the Romans and Sabines, leagued with the Etruscans (Livy, iii. 29).
