AL´BII

Eth. AL´BII, ALBA´NI MONTES (τὰ Ἄλβια ὄρη, Strab. vii. p.314; τὸ Ἀλβανὸν ὄρος, Ptol. 2.14.1), was an eastern spur of Mount Carvancas, and the termination of the Carnic or Julian Alps on the confines of Illyricum. The Albii Montes dip down to the banks of the Saave, and connect Mount Carvancas with Mount Cetius, inclosing Aemona, and forming the southern boundary of Pannonia. [W.B.D] [p. 1.93]
